About Lunch Party
Lunch Party does one thing: it ends the “who owes what” negotiation at the end of a group meal. You photograph the receipt, the line items are read off it automatically, you tap items onto the people who ordered them (splitting shared plates across everyone who picked at them), and each person gets an itemized total with tax and tip apportioned by their share rather than divided flat.
There’s no sign-up and no login. The receipt image is converted to text by a self-hosted recognition pipeline and discarded; the split lives in your browser while you build it and the backend keeps nothing between requests. When everyone’s squared away, each person gets a Venmo or Zelle deep link prefilled with their amount, and Lunch Party never touches the money itself.
At a glance
- Item-level splitting, so you pay for what you ordered
- Tax and tip split in proportion, not divided flat
- Receipt photo read by self-hosted OCR, then discarded
- No accounts, no database, nothing stored server-side
- Venmo / Zelle deep links prefilled with each amount
- Works in a phone browser, nothing to install
