About Spacism
Spacism reads the public news feeds of space agencies and space-industry publishers — NASA, ESA and trade press among them — and puts the newest headlines on one page, each with a short excerpt and a link to the full story on the publisher's own site. It doesn't rewrite or summarise anything: the reporting is theirs, and the link always goes to them.
A collector fetches every feed every thirty minutes and keeps an archive of everything it has seen, a few thousand items back to 2025, and the site is re-rendered from it every fifteen minutes. A status page shows each source's health — when it was last checked, how many items it has contributed, and the last error if a feed has stopped working — because a news page that quietly stops updating looks exactly like one that is current.
It is a small C++ collector writing to Postgres and a static site rendered from it, deployed with Ansible and systemd, no Docker. There are no accounts, no cookies, no analytics and no ads.
What it is not: a publisher — it writes none of the news it shows — and not yet a reader for the archive it keeps. The homepage shows the latest twelve items; there is no search, no per-source view and no feed of its own today.
